New Pattern Release! The Record Collector Shawl

This is the Record Collector shawl, a new pattern now available to download directly from the website and Ravelry
About this Pattern
My husband and I often enjoy an evening dusting off the vinyl and listening to our favourite tracks on the record player. This shawl was born from such an evening when I had nothing on the needles that I could just mindlessly work on while we listened to music. So I cast on a simple pattern of predominantly stockinette but with a purl ‘groove’ to create breaks in the stitches, much like the song break lines on a record. And so came about the Record Collector shawl.
Record collector uses two skeins of 4ply yarn starting with a colourful, variegated skein to let your stitches sing out loud! A simple repetition of knit and purl stitches makes this a catchy knit and one that is easy to memorise. Once you have reached the end of your first skein it’s time to jazz things up and introduce a contrast colour, changing the rhythm of your stitches as you knit the textured border.
Like the main body of the shawl, the border uses just knit and purl stitches but here the stitches work to pull the fabric into a fluted rib pattern for the final outro.
And once you have cast off, if you flip the shawl over you will see that it also has a very attractive B-side!
This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted prior to publication. A handy stitch count checklist is also provided.

Thank you Sharon, Linda, Pat, Sabina. Pam and Martine.
Here's what they had to say about this pattern:
"This shawl was so fun to make—easy enough to do in front of the TV but had enough pattern changes to keep my interest. I love the you could wear it with either side being the front and they would be a little different" – Pat
“What a lovely pattern – I can't wait to wear this to my next record fair!” – Sabina
Thanks for reading, I hope you like the new pattern!
