Knit a lace shawl in this 5 week Knitalong course.
In this course we will be knitting the Dappled Days shawl together. Worked from the top down and triangular in shape, this generous sized shawl alternates between sections of garter stitch and has 4 lace stripes. Each of the lace sections expands on the previous one so you start of with a simple diamond motif, and then build on your skills for each section.
We will also look at knitting charts and discover why they are a game changer when it comes to lace knitting!
Zoom calls will take place every Weds at 8pm (UK time) for 5 weeks from 8th November to 6th December. For the full schedule of what will be covered each week click on the button below.
Weds 10th and Thurs 11th November - 7-9pm
This workshop is conducted over 2 sessions and we will be exploring the construction of sock knitting by knitting a mini-sock from the top down using double pointed needles. Don't worry if you have never used double pointed needles (dpns) or knitted in the round before as there will be close up demonstrations throughout the class.
At the end of the class you will be given a document with all of the information covered in the class for future reference.
You will also receive a full size adult sock pattern which uses all of the techniques used to knit the mini sock so that you can put your new skills into practice! The adult pattern also comes with links to video tutorials so you can easily refer to these if you need a refresher in the future.
Sunday 14th November - 2-5pm
Are you a fairly new knitter who has mastered knit and purl stitches and not sure where to go next? This class is for you.
In the Next Steps in Knitting class we will work through a knitting pattern together, stopping at each section to discuss what information is being provided and how we can use this to make decisions in our knitting projects.
We explore how different types of yarns and needles can make a real difference to our knitting, and how to choose our yarn and make substitutions. We discuss gauge and why it is important and also learn to decipher knitting abbreviations!
Then we cast on the Diamond Lace purse and work through a range of techniques including: how to make left and right leaning increases, how to make a buttonhole and knitting a simple lace pattern.
The class is kept small (to a maximum of 6 people) so guided tuition and support is on hand throughout the class.

In this festive knitalong class we will be casting and making a little mini-santa hat. This is a fun and informal knitalong and the class is kept small to allow to make it a cozy space for us to have a knit and natter as we make the hat.
There are 2 sessions available - choose a Friday night (with a glass of mulled wine) or join in for a relaxed Sunday morning knitalong.
The adorable little hat can be used as a tree decoration, festive bottle topper or you could string a few together for some mini-hat bunting!
You will be sent a kit ahead of the class which will include the instructions and enough yarn to make 3 mini hats.
You can choose to knit the hat in the round on double pointed needles, or you can knit it flat on straight needles and seam it at the end. Instructions for both methods are provided in the pattern.
You will just need to bring a pair of 4mm needles (straight or double pointed depending on how you want to knit the hat) some scissors, and a tapestry needle to weave the ends in.
This workshop is suitable for beginners comfortable with knit and purl stitches and k2tog decreases and kfb (knit front back) increases.
