  2. I know...its still October but now the nights are drawing in and the Autumn air is becoming crisp, my thoughts are turning to Christmas! And I know how organised us knitters like to be when planning projects for our needles, so I am excited to let you know that the Christmas Shop is officially open!

There is a lovely selection of quick-knit decoration patterns to choose from. Each one is knitted using a chunky yarn and 4mm needles (US size 6) and these cute decorations look great on the Christmas tree or dotted around the home.

A number of these patterns are available as individual kits too! These kits make a great weekend project and come with the instructions and yarn plus any extras such as beads and stuffing. You can shop the range of Christmas Patterns and Kits here

There is also a new range of Winter Season Yarns available. These semi-solid yarns combine different tones throughout the skein so you get a lovely depth of colour to your stitches. From the pale, frosty silvery blues of Glacier to the rich, deep purples of Crushed Velvet, these skeins are the perfect choice for your knits this winter.

These colourways are available in the shop on the 4ply Sparkle Sock base and the 4ply Steni Vala Merino and Silk base. Other yarn weights and bases are available on request. You can view the range of Winter Season yarns here

Or perhaps you are looking to add some winter sparkle to your wardrobe. The Let It Snow shawl is a beautiful, large triangular shawl perfect for the festive season. Wear with your favourite dress for dinner, or wrap around your neck for a gorgeous glistening scarf for those fresh winter walks. The pattern uses just knit and purl stitches and the beads are added as you go along using a small crochet hook. A video tutorial for how to add the beads is linked in the pattern, and you can watch it here too.

Kits for this shawl are available on request and the yarn and bead colours can be customised to your preference. If you would like to find out more about the kits, please just reply drop me a message through the Contact Form.

And finally, don't forget to check out the tins of Christmas Stitch Markers

Available in sets of 6 or 12, and a choice of silver, colourful or mixed, these festive markers are the perfect choice for your needles this Christmas. Each set comes in a little tin for safe storage, and they make lovely gifts too!

I hope you enjoy all the new additions to the Christmas Shop this year. Stay tuned for some more knitty additions to the shop over the next few weeks, and there is a new one-skein Christmas shawl pattern coming very soon too!

Thank you for reading and until next time - happy knitting!
