Yarn of the Month - Maydream

Maydream is the Yarn of the Month for May 2023. Inspired by a photo of some peonies and lupins in my friends garden, this colourway is full of soft pastel pinks, pale blues and pretty purples. Swipe through the photos to see the inspiration picture!

Available on 2 different yarn bases, there are lots of possibilites for this dreamy yarn. You could make a light summer top, or create a one skein shawl kit from the many patterns available on the website. 

The super-soft silk and merino mix of the Steni Vala base is also available as a choice for any of the 'Shades of...' shawl kits until the end of May!

Yarn Winding Service - The hand-dyed yarn from my shop will be posted to you as skein, which is a big, twisted loop. In order to use your yarn you will need to wind the skien into a ball or a cake so that it doesn't end up as a big tangled mess!

Chora Yarn Base

This skein has all the soft and breathable qualities of merino but with the added durability of nylon, making it perfect for sock knitting, or for projects that require that extra bit of robustness. 

The merino yarn has been treated with a superwash which is a process used to flatten out the yarn scales, making them less prone to felting. This means that the yarn can be machine washed, although we do recommend handwashing your hand-knits if possible.

Per skein: 425m / 464yds - 100g

Suggested Needle Size: 2.25mm - 3.75mm

Steni Vala Yarn Base

This luxurious blend yarn of merino and silk is a delight to knit with. Combining the baby softness of merino and the shine and drape of silk, your stitches will glide off the needles and transform into something truly special. 

Per skein: 400m / 440yds - 100g

Suggested Needle Size: 3.5mm - 4mm
