4 ply Sock Blank - 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon

Midnight Hour is a one-of-a-kind sock blank where the colours transition from dark blues, pinks, purples with emerald to dark greens.

The colours on a sock blank are most vivid on the surface. As you work the stitches you will get an overall marbled effect of bright and paler colours.

Each sock blank is 100g and 425m, so would make a lovely one-skein shawl project.

How to knit from a sock blank

This yarn is dyed as a pre-knitted piece of fabric. You can knit directly from the sock blank, just untie the end attached to the label and unravel the blank as you knit!

Or for smoother knitting from the start you can use a yarn swift to transform the sock blank into a skein. This can then be soaked in water and then hung to dry with a weight at the bottom to remove the kinks. 

Blocking your finished knit from a sock blank is highly recommended as this will remove any kinks in the yarn.

This blend has all the soft and breathable qualities of merino but with the added durability of nylon, making it perfect for sock knitting, or projects that require that extra bit of robustness. 

This merino yarn has been treated with a superwash which is a process used to flatten out the yarn scales, making them less prone to felting. This means that the yarn can be machine washed, although we do recommend handwashing your hand-knits if possible.
