About this Pattern
From a young age, we’re taught to follow the rules. As we get older, we figure out which boundaries we can push without technically breaking any rules. While there are no knitting police, stitches are generally meant to be knit, stripes are meant to be straight. Within the Lines lets you follow the rules through the stockinette body, but when you hit the stripes, you get to feel a tiny bit rebellious! Slipped stitches make some of the stripes go a little wonky. You’re still colouring within the lines; you just get to bend those lines ever-so-slightly.
With its top-down construction, this triangular shawl follows the norm of traditional shawls. However, worked in three colours of aran weight yarn, this is not the typical (fingering weight) shawl you might be used to. The heavier yarn works up quickly and produces a rich texture and great warmth. Combine a neutral main colour with two high-contrast colours to create a real showstopper. Now’s your chance to show off the rebel hiding underneath!
The pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit. Video tutorials for various techniques used in the shawl are also provided in the pattern.
