  1. In case you hadn't heard, the Ravelry Indie Designer Gift-a-Long starts next week!

Now in it's 6th year, the event is a 6 week knit-a-long, or crochet-a-long to kick start any holiday gifting plans. The event launches next Friday 23rd November at 8pm EST / 1am Sat 24th November GMT at which time a whole host of indie designers will be discounting 25% from 10 - 20 of their patterns!

The window for downloading patterns will then be open until Thursday 29th November at 23:59 EST, and the KAL/CAL continues until 31st December.

There are 8 categories you can participate in and some amazing prizes to be won along the way!

More details can be found in the >>Ravelry Indie Design Gift-a-Long Group<<

Taking part is easy, choose from the huge range of patterns available from the participating Indie Designers and use the coupon code giftalong2018 at the Ravelry checkout. You can then join the relevant KAL / CAL in the Ravelry Group and could win one of many prizes along the way! (Remember to join as a Group Member first though to be eligible) You can also join in on social media using the hashtags #GAL2018 and #giftalong2018

This will be my first year of participating in the event as a designer and I have created a bundle of 17 patterns that will all have a 25% discount!

So if you are looking for some inspiration and some cheering on to get those holiday projects completed then make sure you mark your calendar for next week and come along and join the fun on Ravelry!

    Hope to see you there!

  2. I know, it's early November and I'm already talking about Christmas, but I wanted to drop by with an early present :)

As a knitter I know how busy our schedules can get this time of year and I wanted to gift you this free pattern before things start to get really hectic! These mini stockings are super quick to knit, and make excellent gifts or decorations to hang around the home.

     Cropped stockings
These mini stocking are worked in aran weight yarn on 4mm double pointed needles which means they knit up nice and quick AND the whole pattern is supported by a full video tutorial!

Although the pattern is written and demonstrated using dpn's, you can adapt to knitting them using the magic loop method if you prefer.

If you have never knit a sock or used double pointed needles before then this is the perfect introductory project. The written pattern is fully supported with a step by step video tutorial to guide you through each stage of knitting the stocking, and the video times are annotated so you can skip to the part you want to watch straight away!

The pattern is available by clicking on this link or by visiting
